Illegal action and poor customer service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Nissan Canada has extremely poor customer service, unwilling to show any support even to loyal customers and do not want to assist with any issues with their dealerships, even if their dealership is acting against the law.

1. Nissan Niagara Falls dealership, against the law, installed tint on my vehicle that was over the allowable limit of darkness and regardless of that have passed my safety test afterwards.

Within 2 years of buying Quashqai 2017 at this dealership I decided to sell it BUT wasn't able to pass the safety test because the tint on the front windows was too dark, and it was against the law for over 3.5 years at that time. This Ontario law states that vehicles manufactured after January 1, 2017, prohibits any aftermarket window tinting on a vehicle's front left and right windows to a maximum of 30% darkness. My vehicle's manufacturing date is July 2017 and the tint was installed by this dealership in August 2018, which is over a year since the law came into effect. When I called the dealership to inquire about this issue, the agent was very rude, promised to look into it and call me back.

No one contacted me and 1.5 month later I decided to call again and got an answer that it's been 2 years since I purchased the vehicle from them, so they cannot provide me with any type of assistance, nor would they comment on their actions.

2. I purchase Quashqai 2019 from Agincourt Nissan with only 13 km on it (demo car) in August 2020. Withing 3 month of purchase the vehicle started to give me warning that there is some sort of break malfunction and this happens only when I break. I took the vehicle to Nissan Downtown Toronto, but they were not able to locate the issue and told me to continue driving like that until it pops up again and that take a photo of it.

Really?! I don't feel safe driving with my child with malfunctioning breaks.

3.

I call Nissan Canada to inquire about both issues and each time they promised to look into it and call me back. The last time I called, I was told there is nothing they can do for me as I already sold my 1st Quashqai, and as for the 2nd one there is no proof that there is something wrong with it, so I have to wait until something happens again.

This was an unpleasant experience and I would strongly advise people against buying Nissan vehicles as you would never receive any type of assistance from them and considering Nissan Niagara Falls' actions, who knows what else they can close their eyes on just so they can sell you their vehicles.

Headlight replacement

My low beam light burnt out on my 2013 Altima, I took it up to the garage thinking it would be a short time to replace. Garage called me to say they have to remove the bumper to gain access to the low beam bulbs. What is that all about. Cost me an hour labor when I should have been able to do this myself in my laneway. Why would you even think of building like that??? Pissed off owner....Dead

Our lease comes up on July 5th,he said we had to go in 2weeks before for paper work. We did ,then he said ok so we have to give in car today. We figured it was a misunderstanding and we said we will give car on the 5th of July. He said, rudely ,he has no time for us on the 5th and now established the 2nd of July. Very wrong,my husband has to take another day off without pay. We are the customers.

Warranty

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I bought a 2018 Nissan Titan after seeing advertisements all over media saying 160000 km Bumper to Bumper 5 year warranty and now the first time I take the vehicle to the dealership to have an engine light looked at they tell me that the parts that need to be replaced are not under warranty. It seems that they pick and choose what they want to cover under warranty. I have spoke to two customer Representatives that both agree that it seems unfair but to no avail.

Over 30% increase in oil changes

I am a senior on a fixed income. I hope you can imagine my horror when that increase took my bill to almost $100.00 when in the past it was $59.99 not including taxes I wish I had never bought that car. I will certainly tell anyone who asks me NOT to buy your cash grabbing service.

Customer Service is almost nonexistent throughout the Company.

My story has not changed at all! I am still plagued with the same problems as per my review which are extremely aggravating and find that they are effecting me mentally the longer my problems go unresolved. It’s been over 2 months now.I have had no contact from anybody...

Original review Dec 16, 2020
I have been trying to obtain Customer service from various sources throughout the Company for the past month and a half since I purchased my new 2020 vehicle however I still have not had any success. Nissan's Customer service tends to work on benefiting the Company instead of the customers that pay their wages.

The service seems to be one-sided. I'm still left with many misunderstandings, many disagreements, many disappointments, many frustrations, many unresolved issues and concerns, and have been left extremely irritated.
I'm also not sure if I was given Nissan Canada's recent discount included in my purchase as advertised. Furthermore, I was also not provided with the trade in value of my trade that we had discussed.

And I still have many questions left unanswered with nowhere to find the answers. I extremely regret purchasing a Nissan product, and I extremely wish that I would have reviewed everybody's comments before my purchase.
I should have stayed loyal continuing to purchase from my usual trusted dealership where I have purchased non-foreign vehicles over and over again without any problems whatsoever.
There is no reason at all why I have had to endure all of this undo stress that Nissan Canada has caused.
What happened to the Nissan Customer Promise as per their advertising which they appear to be so proud of?
Also, now that I've had more time to look it over I have come to the realization that it is actually not made as well as I initially thought despite the high MSRP.

Preferred solution: Fulfill the $4,000 discount that I should have received with my recent purchase and the $1,000 that I missed with my trade-in or at least add a 2 yr. warranty with a Security Plus Protection Plan for a total of a 5 yr. bumper to bumper warranty.

User's recommendation: Stay away from Nissan products.

I have been in business for 35 years and have 14 vehicles in our fleet and was highly recommended by a customer to purchase a Nissan Titan pick up for the company as we were looking for a new truck we have in the past purchased, Ford Chevy and Dodge Rams all which had their problems BUT not once were we NEVER supplied a loaner vehicle until our vehicle was repaired. Due to a part on back order, it is not our fault we are without transportation for our business now.

I also can respect that because of Covid everything is behind we ourselves are enduring a shortage of supplies, but we make arrangements with our suppliers to accommodate our customers, so they are not inconvenienced due this problem and as Nissan can easily in my respect could have called any rental company example Hertz, Budget and kept us on the road continuing to do our work that's why we purchase NEW is, so we are not ever be without transportation.

If even we were not under warranty the other dealers always provided us with a loaner vehicle, so we could keep our business running. AS for my self unless Nissan can rectify this issue with us, I as a business owner have lost my trust in their product not because of the part issue but as a partnership in our company to keep in good faith with us and got our backs when were down and out
